2. Matisse and Picasso: Friends, Rivals exhibition
National Gallery Singapore will showcase Matisse and Picasso: Friends, Rivals exhibition happening from 15 May – 16 August 2020. This is the first exhibition in Southeast Asia to take an in-depth look at the work of two of Europe’s most influential 20th-century artists, Henri Matisse (1869–1954) and Pablo Picasso (1881–1973).
Over 100 paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, illustrated books, and ballet costumes will be on display, as visitors take a closer friendship, rivalry and mutual inspiration between these two artists that brought forth groundbreaking works that changed the course of modern art.
