8. Gateway Kids Club – May Storytelling 2026

There’s something magical happening this May at Gateway Theatre. Gateway Kids Club invites families to celebrate the beauty of nature and our planet through a month of engaging storytelling sessions.

Centred around the theme of Earth and the wonders of life, each session introduces young audiences to meaningful stories about friendship, care, and the environment—encouraging children to learn how to protect the world we call home.

New sessions are added weekly, with registration opening two weeks in advance.

Highlights include Rina, The Bird Who Forgot the Sky, a heartwarming tale about rediscovering courage, and Why the Sky is Far Away, a bilingual story that explores how the sky drifted from Earth. In the lead-up to Mother’s Day, children can also enjoy stories like Grumpy Monkey Mom For A Day and A Drawing for My Mum, celebrating love and appreciation for mothers.

Other sessions throughout the month explore themes of environmental awareness and adventure, from a wandering plastic bag in Rustle’s Big Bag-venture to helping clean up a beach in Cleaning Coco the Crab’s Home!, and a touching story about nature’s balance in The Cloud that Learned to Fall.

All sessions are free to attend. After storytelling, families can also participate in arts and crafts or enjoy free-play activities.

Gateway Kids Club is a weekly programme held every Saturday at Gateway Theatre, with rotating monthly themes designed to inspire creativity and learning in children.
