TheWeekendList: Things to Do This Weekend

Raise a Glass to 111 Years of the Singapore Sling this weekend!

1. Celebrate Singapore Sling Day with Long Bar’s 111th Anniversary Festivities

Few cocktails are as closely tied to Singapore’s identity as the Singapore Sling, and this year marks an impressive milestone: 111 years since its creation at Long Bar in Raffles Singapore.

First created in 1915 and widely recognised as Singapore’s national cocktail, the Singapore Sling will be celebrated on Singapore Sling Day on 27 June 2026. The annual occasion coincides with International Pineapple Day — a fitting pairing, given the fruit’s role as an international symbol of hospitality and a key ingredient in the iconic cocktail.

Leading up to the celebration, guests can take part in a special giveaway on Long Bar’s Instagram page (@longbarsg), where one lucky winner will receive an exclusive private Singapore Sling masterclass for two, priority booking at Long Bar, and a pair of Singapore Sling souvenir glasses.

On 27 June, the Long Bar will come alive with festive decorations, special experiences and celebratory activities throughout the day. One of the most anticipated traditions is the annual pineapple exchange, where the first 111 guests to arrive with a whole pineapple will receive a complimentary Singapore Sling. Guests can also be among the first to sample the newly launched Singapore Sling Zero, while enjoying lucky draws, themed giveaways and other surprises.

Long Bar is located at 1 Beach Rd, Singapore 189673.

2. The Pontiac takes over Neon Pigeon for a One-Night-Only Afterparty

For one night only, Hong Kong nightlife favourite The Pontiac takes over Neon Pigeon, bringing its signature energy and acclaimed cocktail programme to Singapore.

Just a short stroll from Hong Lim Park, the afterparty offers an easy transition from the day’s celebrations into a night of great drinks, music and company. The Pontiac will be serving an exclusive cocktail menu created specially for the occasion, while Neon Pigeon keeps its full food and beverage offerings available throughout the evening.

DJ Kira Moon will be on the decks from 8pm till late, setting the tone for a lively night at the Carpenter Street venue.

Best of all, entry is completely free — no guest list, no cover charge, and no reservations required.

Neon Pigeon is located at 36 Carpenter St, #01-01, Singapore 059915.

3. A Six-Hands Dining Experience at SanSara

If your idea of a good weekend meal involves layered spices rather than predictable luxury, SanSara’s Siam & Spice collaboration is the one to look at. Running for two days only (26 to 27 June 2026), this six-hands dining experience brings together SanSara’s Master Chef Pannalal Nath with chefs from Bangkok’s Michelin-starred Saneh Jaan. The result is not a blunt Thai-Indian mash-up, but a more careful conversation between two spice-driven culinary traditions.

That distinction matters. Thai cuisine and North Indian cuisine both understand heat, fragrance, acidity, herbs and slow-building flavour, but they use those tools differently. The menu plays with that tension: Tiger Prawns and Crispy Seabass in Thai herbal dressing bring brightness and lift, while Ginseng Littleneck Clams Yakhni leans into saffron, fennel and dill. Duck Red Curry Vindaloo sounds like the sort of dish that could go wrong in less careful hands, but here the idea is balance — coconut, kaffir lime and warming spices sharing the same plate.

Diners can choose between a 4-course menu at S$68++ per guest (or S$98++ with beverage pairing) and a more indulgent 6-course menu at S$98++ per guest (or S$128++ with beverage pairing). Optional pairings are available for adult diners, including non-alcoholic creations.

The riverside setting at Grand Copthorne Waterfront gives the evening a softer pace, making it a good choice for a dinner that feels special without becoming stiff.

SanSara, Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore is located at 392 Havelock Road, Singapore 169663.

4. Affordable Omakase Meets Exclusivity at Sushidan’s Secret Sushi Counter

Omakase dining no longer has to mean spending hundreds of dollars for a special occasion. At Sushidan, diners can enjoy an intimate chef-led experience at a hidden six-seater counter tucked discreetly behind the restaurant’s main dining area, offering a more exclusive setting without the hefty price tag often associated with omakase.

Helmed by Chef Yusuke Kawana, a Tokyo-trained sushi chef with more than 28 years of Edomae sushi experience, the omakase experience begins at S$98++ for a 15-course menu. Diners can expect a well-paced journey featuring appetisers, sashimi, sushi, a hot dish, grilled course, handroll and dessert, creating a satisfying and complete dining experience. For those seeking more luxurious seasonal ingredients, premium menus priced at S$138++ and S$238++ are also available.

What sets the experience apart is the combination of value and intimacy. With only six seats available, guests enjoy a closer interaction with the chef and a front-row view of the craftsmanship behind each course, bringing back the sense of occasion that can sometimes feel lost in larger omakase settings.

Whether you’re planning a date night, celebrating a special occasion, or simply treating yourself to a quality sushi experience, Sushidan’s hidden omakase counter offers a compelling reason to book a seat.

Sushidan is located at Raffles City Shopping Centre, 252 North Bridge Road, B1-44C, Singapore 179103.

5. Geylang Claypot Rice Expands with Fresh Seafood and New Family-Style Sharing Plates

Geylang Claypot Rice may be best known for its iconic charcoal-fired claypot rice, but there is now a new reason to visit. The long-standing restaurant has expanded its offerings with a fresh daily seafood selection and a range of new sharing plates designed for families and larger groups, transforming what was once a claypot-rice stop into a more complete communal dining destination.

Beyond signature favourites such as its claypot rice and Golden Pumpkin Porridge, diners can now build a feast around freshly prepared seafood dishes. New additions include Baby Sotong in Superior Soy Sauce with Crispy Pork Lard (S$16++), Threadfin served with Teochew (S$28++), Thai or Nyonya-style sauces, Marble Goby (S$32++) prepared in various cooking styles, Pumpkin Crayfish (S$12.80++/per piece), Fruity Prawn (S$19.80++), and Steamed Prawns with Egg White and Sambal Clams (Market Price).

The appeal of the expanded menu lies in the balance between old and new. The claypot rice remains the star attraction, but the broader selection encourages diners to linger longer and share more. Fresh seafood brings variety to the table, while the restaurant’s familiar, family-style approach remains unchanged.

Geylang Claypot Rice is located at 361/363/365 Beach Road, Singapore 199576.

6. Surrey Hills Grocer Launches Dinner Club Promotion

Surrey Hills Grocer’s Dinner Club is made for anyone who has ever struggled to decide what to order when dining with friends. Available from Sunday to Thursday evenings, the promotion lets diners enjoy the same number of complimentary mains when they order two, three, or four selected mains — making it an attractive option for groups, families, couples with hearty appetites, or colleagues looking to brighten up a weekday dinner.

What makes the promotion even more appealing is that each participating outlet features its own selection of dishes. Whether you’re meeting at Raffles City for convenience, stopping by ION Orchard after a shopping trip, or gathering at One Holland Village, VivoCity, or The Woodleigh Mall, the experience varies slightly from location to location. Depending on the outlet, diners can enjoy favourites such as the Truffled Wagyu Brioche Bun Burger, Chilli Crab Linguine, Laksa Linguine, Chicken Schnitzel, Lava Wagyu Burger, and other hearty mains.

To make the deal even better, guests can pair their meal with two glasses of selected wines for just S$13.50++, making it an easy option for those looking to unwind over dinner without stretching the budget.

If you’re planning a catch-up over dinner, bringing a few friends along is the best way to make the most of the offer.

Available at Surrey Hills Grocer outlets at Raffles City, ION Orchard, One Holland Village, VivoCity, and The Woodleigh Mall.

7. Greenwood Fish Market’s 14th World Oyster Festival 2026 is Back

Oyster season has arrived, and Greenwood Fish Market is marking the occasion with the return of its highly anticipated World Oyster Festival. Back for its 14th edition, the month-long celebration brings together 25 oyster varietals from nine countries, offering seafood lovers a rare opportunity to compare flavours, textures and terroirs from some of the world’s most renowned oyster-growing regions.

This year’s festival also introduces three new French oyster varietals making their debut in Singapore, adding even more variety to an already impressive lineup. From rich and creamy Pacific oysters to crisp, briny, and mineral-forward European selections, the festival showcases the remarkable diversity within a single shell.

All oysters are imported live and freshly shucked to order, ensuring peak freshness whether you’re dining in, ordering takeaway or enjoying them at home through delivery. Diners can mix and match individual oysters from S$4.95++ each, making it easy to sample a range of varietals and discover personal favourites.

For those looking for a more comprehensive tasting experience, Greenwood Fish Market is also offering a chef-curated 16-piece platter featuring eight different oyster varietals for S$119.95++. It’s an ideal introduction for newcomers and a rewarding tasting journey for seasoned oyster enthusiasts alike.

The World Oyster Festival runs at Greenwood Fish Market’s Bukit Timah and Quayside Isle (Sentosa) outlets.

8. Molly Tea Introduces a Smoky Twist with Its New Tongmu Lapsang Series

Most seasonal bubble tea launches lean toward sweet, floral, or fruit-forward flavours. Molly Tea’s Tongmu Lapsang Series takes a more grown-up approach, built around the smoky character of Tongmuguan black tea. It is a clever choice for drinkers who still enjoy the comfort of milk tea but want something less predictable than another fruit foam or brown sugar remake.

The series has two main drinks. The Tongmu Lapsang Bubble Tea combines black tea, fresh milk, hazelnut cheese foam, and brown sugar boba, creating a layered profile that moves from smoky to creamy to caramel-chewy. The Tongmu Lapsang Salted Cheese Milk Tea is savourier, pairing smoky tea with salted and hazelnut cheeses for a richer finish.

The brown sugar boba is also newly available as a topping, which is useful if you already have a favourite Molly Tea drink and just want to customise it.

9. GODIVA Launches Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5-Themed Collection

GODIVA’s new Toy Story collection taps into both nostalgia and gifting appeal, making it a collaboration that resonates with children and adults alike. Whether you grew up watching Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie, or you’re shopping for a young Toy Story fan, the collection offers plenty of charming ways to celebrate the beloved characters.

At the heart of the launch is the Toy Story Chocolate Giftbox (S$42), presented in a playful 3D pop-up design and filled with GODIVA’s signature G Cube chocolates and Crisp Dark Chocolate Pearls. Collectors may be drawn to the Chocolate Pearls Collection Giftbox (S$52), which features character-inspired artwork and comes with an exclusive Jessie keychain. For a smaller treat, the Chocolate Pearls tins are dressed in sleeves inspired by Buzz, Jessie and Woody, making them ideal as gifts, souvenirs or desk-side indulgences.

Adding to the excitement, GODIVA will introduce Toy Story-themed Almond Soft Serves (S$11.50 each) from 3 July, giving fans another way to enjoy the collaboration during the school holiday season.

Available at GODIVA boutiques at Takashimaya Shopping Centre, Jewel Changi Airport, Bugis Junction and Suntec City.

10. Hair for Hope 2026

Hair for Hope has always been more than a head-shaving campaign. At its best, it makes something invisible — the fear, disruption, and emotional toll of childhood cancer — visible to the wider community. This year’s theme, “This is Our Shared Journey,” is especially moving because it recognises that a child’s cancer journey does not belong solely to the patient. Parents, siblings, caregivers, volunteers, medical teams, donors and schools often become part of the same long road.

Those looking to show their support can take part in the Hair for Hope 2026 public event at VivoCity on 25 and 26 July 2026. The event runs from 11am to 7pm on Saturday and 11am to 6pm on Sunday, bringing together shavers, supporters and families in a visible show of solidarity for children and families affected by cancer.

For families, this is a worthwhile campaign to follow, donate to or participate in. For parents, it can also become a gentle way to speak to children about empathy, courage and community action without making the subject feel distant or abstract.

Go not for spectacle, but for perspective.

Vivocity is located at 1 HarbourFront Walk, Singapore 098585.
