4. Jurong Lake Gardens (Chinese & Japanese Gardens)

Scheduled to complete at the end of this year, the Jurong Lake Gardens is slated to be Singapore’s newest national gardens. While works are still in place to revitalise the Jurong Lake Gardens West, walking trails are available in the adjacent Chinese and Japanese themed gardens. To tone those legs, climb up to the top of the seven-storey pagoda for a panoramic view of the Jurong Lake district. For something less taxing, a stroll within the Japanese gardens provides visitors the chance to learn about the landscape style of the Muromachi and Momoyama periods.
