Singapore fans of Detective Conan, you have even more reason to be excited about the Japanese anime’s upcoming movie – the 23rd installment of the franchise is set in our very own sunny city! The Merlion, the Singapore Flyer, Marina Bay Sands and more iconic sights of Singapore create a beautiful animated backdrop, except maybe when the Merlion is spewing out blood. A murder has taken place at MBS, connected to an attempt to steal a legendary blue sapphire lying at the bottom of the Singapore sea. Conan is called to investigate the crime by his rival Kaito Kid, and he soon finds himself caught in a deep conspiracy. Featuring many of our favourite Detective Conan characters, the new movie has already become a hit at the Japan box office, even beating both Avengers: Endgame and Detective Pikachu to take the lead on a certain week.
