The phoenix rises this June! Dive back into the story of Jean Grey, one of the most iconic and powerful characters in Marvel’s X-Men franchise, in the anticipated follow-up to X-Men: Apocalypse. When Jean (Sophie Turner) gets hit by a great cosmic force that heightens her mutant powers dramatically, she struggles to control her powers from destroying her loved ones, the world and herself. We previously dipped into the ‘Dark Phoenix Saga’ in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand, and Dark Phoenix is written and directed by Simon Kinberg, the same guy who wrote The Last Stand. However, Kinberg has spoken about this adaptation taking a different tone. Getting more the relationship between Jean and Scott/Cyclops as they figure out her powers is already a big change we welcome and can’t wait to see.
Release date: 5 June
