One of 2017’s food craze is the Castella Cake – a Japanese sponge cake of Portugal origins, made from a simple selection of ingredients including sugar, flour and eggs. Taiwanese import Le Castella ignited the craze, with other brands following suit with versions of chocolate, early grey and ondeh ondeh.
