7. Changi Airport to Absorb GST Hike in 2024
Retail stores across Changi Airport’s four terminals will continue to bear the increased Goods and Services Tax (GST) from 8% to 9% within their public areas. Despite this change, shoppers can still enjoy the GST absorption by joining the complimentary Changi Rewards loyalty program. During nine days in January, during the “2XGST” promotion, patrons will receive an extra 9% deduction on their purchases exceeding a minimum nett value of S$30 after all other discounts have been applied. Moreover, customers spending at least S$60 and using Mastercard through Changi’s digital wallet, Changi Pay, will receive a S$9 Changi Pay return voucher credited to their account.
The 2XGST promotion period is from 12 to 14 January, 19 to 21 January, and 26 to 28 January 2024.
