6. Join Shangri-La Singapore in Supporting Our Hawker Heroes
From now to 19 September, The Line at Shangri-La Singapore will be serving signature dishes from two local hawkers. They are 786 Char Kway Teow (Bukit Merah View Market & Hawker Centre) and Ah Mei Handmade Noodles (Beo Crescent Market and Food Centre) as part of a meaningful initiative. There will also have a fundraising element in support of the Pay-It-Forward hawker programme by The Federation of Merchants’ Associations, Singapore.
The Line’s buffet dinner menu from Fridays to Sundays will feature dishes from these two hawkers. They were also affected by the dining restrictions resulting in dips in their business. The hawker fare can be enjoyed along with The Line’s regular à la carte buffet. The Line’s regular menu offers flavours of the world and is served to the table.
To make a greater impact, each reservation is made for the dinners through the Chope dining platform. Together, they will see a joint donation of S$4 per diner to the Pay-it-forward hawker programme by The Federation of Merchants’ Associations, Singapore. Funds raised will be used to purchase meals from hawkers to be given to those in need.
