Paddington Pops Into Singapore For Afternoon Tea At SKAI

Perched above the city, SKAI turns afternoon tea into a storybook adventure with everyone’s favorite marmalade-loving bear, Paddington.

In collaboration with STUDIOCANAL Kids & Family Ltd., the brand owner of Paddington, Executive Chef Seumas Smith and Executive Pastry Chef Yong Ming Choong channel the bear’s curious spirit into a playful high tea that blends British nostalgia with sky-high Singaporean views.

The experience begins with a touch of theatre: an Orange Marmalade Sandwich presented tableside from Paddington’s hat, a charming icebreaker that sets SKAI’s mood—warm, cheeky, and cinematic. Savouries follow, each imbued with texture and character. Cheese and Truffle Gougères arrive with a glossy red glaze that nods to the famous hat while delivering a puff of earthy aroma. Honey Baked Ham with Apple and Whole Grain Mustard is tucked into a red bun, balancing sweet, crisp, and tangy flavours to earn a grin. Hot Smoked Salmon Rillette topped with caviar offers a posh nod to the accidental fancy moments in Paddington’s London adventures, while Crab Blini with spicy dressing and yuzu adds a citrus lift. A golden Chicken Pie rounds out the savoury offerings, evoking the coziest British tearoom in a single bite.

The pastry journey doubles as a tour of London and of Paddington’s suitcase. Raspberry Battenberg wears a tiny double-decker bus, bright and jaunty, while a Royal Hazelnut Praline shaped like a suitcase pays tribute to the little traveller’s first journey from Peru. Clementine Marmalade Sandwich with Honey Brioche elevates the classic with citrus butter, honeyed crumb, and a subtle touch of gold. Fruity Macarons printed with Paddington’s likeness hide sunny bursts beneath their crisp shells, while Lemon Tea Meringue Shortbread layers buttery base, tangy tea, and cloud-light fluff. The finale, a Citrus Basil Sorbet with Earl Grey and orange-pomelo salsa, is molded like a tiny orange—cool, fragrant, and unmistakably marmalade-minded.

No British tea is complete without scones, and SKAI keeps them classic, serving warm plain and raisin scones with house jam, Devonshire clotted cream, and butter. The drinks menu complements the spread with TWG teas, gourmet coffee, and two signature non-alcoholic cocktails. Tea With Paddington combines orange marmalade, lemon, Earl Grey, orange juice, and elderflower tonic for a zesty, floral fizz, while Sunshine at No. 32, inspired by the Browns’ Windsor Gardens home, layers coconut, orange, lemonade, and caramel cordial for a bright, holiday-mood finish.

The experience begins before guests even step into SKAI. At the Swissôtel The Stamford lobby, a London-themed photo corner featuring a red phone booth, mailbox, bench, and Paddington cut-out sets the tone, offering families and friends a playful prelude.

Paddington’s beloved marmalade receives an eco-forward reinvention. SKAI’s artisanal Orange Marmalade is crafted from surplus breakfast oranges, including peel and juice, layered with star anise, ginger, cardamom, and lemon to extract depth and aroma. Thoughtful upcycling transforms it into a pantry treasure, packaged in a Paddington-inspired jar that guests can take home for S$12++ or receive with select tea sets.

Running from October 6 to December 31, 2025, SKAI welcomes guests daily from 12:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. High Tea sets include one non-alcoholic cocktail, TWG tea, or gourmet coffee, with pricing starting from S$78++ per adult and S$39++ per child (6–12 years old). Optional 1.5-hour free-flow options include Pommery Champagne and house wine, or Prosecco with house wine, for those seeking an indulgent touch.
