For one night only, free your inhibitions and indulge. Skirt at W hotel is holding a glamorous soiree featuring three beautifully-made, elegant wines of Italy. First, savour the 2010 Brunello di Montalcino from Mastrojanni, Tuscany, one of Italy’s most famous and prestigious wines. Next, the aromatic 2010 Tignanello from Antinori, Tuscany and finally, the rich and complex 2007 Amarone Della Valpolicella from Zyme, Veneto.

2. Make lunch plans at Jack’s Cola Cafe

All Day Breakfast

One of our favourite family-friendly restaurants, Jack’s Place, has launched a re-invented and youthful brand extension called Jack’s Cola Cafe. You can expect popular Jack’s Place cakes and pastries, pies, and even collaborations with homegrown brands such as ice cream creamery Udders, and coffee brand Smitten Coffee. If you’re planning a picnic, you can also drop by their retail section which sells pasta, craft beer coffee beans and even pre-packaged food.

3. Tuck into a hearty bowl of rice (or salad)

These colourful bowls from Grain Traders have been making their rounds on our social media platforms and we can’t deny that they look good. Thankfully, they pack a punch with their taste as well. Build your own meal by picking a grain, a protein and top it off with vegetables. We particularly liked their signature bowl, the El Hibaro, which comes with tender striploin, charred vegetables and white sushi rice.

To see

1. See iconic old places in Singapore (almost) come back to life

Do you miss the good ol’ heydays of Singapore? This captivating exhibition imagines how it would be like if lost icons like the CK Tang Building, the National Theatre, 1970s public buses and the Big Splash weren’t demolished, but instead, adapted to today’s modern life.

2. Enjoy massive lanterns in the shape of dinosaurs, sea palaces and more

Take your Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations to the next level at Gardens by the Bay, where skilled craftsmen have constructed amazing floating lanterns atop the lakes and in the gardens. Also look forward to a lively food street and cultural performances at night.

3. See a “Moonncake Map” made entirely out of mooncakes

Here’s one way to have your (moon)cake and eat it! Come Sunday (Sep 27), Frasers Centrepoint Malls will attempt to set a new Singapore record for the “Largest Singapore Mooncake Map” made totally out of mooncakes. It can be found at Causeway Point.

And here’s the fun bit: you can be a part of this without even sacrificing your own mooncakes. Simply donate $2 on site to the North West CDC Food Aid Fund and a mooncake will be laid onto the map in your honour.
