Drinks were flowing, the music thumping and excited chatter rang through the space at Captiol Theatre on the evening of 3 May 2018.
That was the scene at the third edition of Asia’s 50 Best Bars, returning with its first-ever awards ceremony held in Singapore. Sprits were high as the who’s who from the bartending realm had gathered together in anticipation for the revelation of Asia’s top 50 bars.
While one less from 2017’s list, Singapore proves to be a force to be reckoned with 12 local bars making on the list, of which The Regent’s Manhattan bar was crowned as Asia’s best bar once more. Another honourable mention is Native’s head bartender Vijay Mudaliar who was awarded with the Altos Bartenders’ Bartender Award. The bar itself has climbed an impressive 12 places to clinch the No.8 spot.
Other local winners include: Atlas (4), Tippling Club (7), 28 Hong Kong Street (12), Operation Dagger (19), Gibson (22), Employees Only (23), D.Bespoke (32), Nutmeg & Clove (33), Jigger & Pony (42) and The Other Room (50).
Manhattan bar retains its crown as Asia’s best bar
