Here’s how you can spend your leftover foreign coins and notes in Singapore

Have you ever ended a trip with small change and nothing left to spend it on? You can’t check in a bottle of water, but you don’t have enough to drop on another Bottle of Milk Tea that’s Only Available in Country X.
So you fly back home with a bag of loose change and a faraway fantasy of returning (and getting rid of those coins).
But the ingenious folks at TravelersBox have changed all that. The local company has set up eight kiosks at Changi Airport Terminals 1 and 3 that convert your spare foreign cash into credit, which can be spent on goods and services such as Grab, Starbucks, iTunes, Lazada, Skype, Facebook, Amazon.ch, Amazon.jp and Qoo10.
That’s not all. The project’s still in its early phases, so there’ll be more brands and currencies to be added (we have faith). For now, these currencies are accepted:
Singapore Dollar
Malaysian Ringgit
Thai Baht
Hong Kong Dollar
Japanese Yen
Australian Dollar
Chinese Renminbi
Indonesian Rupiah
Philippine Peso
Eight TravelersBox kiosks can be found across Changi Airport Terminals 1 and 3.
