Groupon revamps its online platforms for easier browsing
Neater layout and a better search function for all your shopping needs
As one of the more popular discount sites out there, Groupon has always been the de facto place for me to snag a great online deal. I recall gifting my mother a Groupon voucher for a Japanese cheesecake baking class, much to her delight.
As a foodie, I can hardly count the number of times I’ve redeemed discounted meals at various restaurants and cafes, thanks to Groupon vouchers. From Xiao Long Bao, Thai Mookata, to even Korean soft-serve, you name it and they (probably) have it.
Now, Groupon has revamped its website to include some useful new features, turning it into a true blue online marketplace. Here are some features we love:
Improved search function
With a search box conveniently positioned at the top of the screen, every search result is displayed along with a set of easy-to-use filters that enable customers to drill deeper into specific categories based on their interests.
For instance, a search for ‘steamboat’ would bring up deals at steamboat restaurants under Food & Drink as well as an electric hot and grill under Goods.
Easier deal discovery
Unlike its old layout where there was just one daily feature deal, the overhauled site features a sophisticated and uncluttered marketplace look that showcases multiple deals at once. With main categories listed neatly on the left column, it has become much easier to pinpoint the deals you want.
Groupon on the go
Groupon has also updated its popular iPhone and Android apps with features including a Nearby tab in the mobile app which enables customers to see what Groupon deals are closest to them, as well as a new search bar much like the one in the website.
