Here’s another wacky love story that shines the spotlight on queer love. We’re all familiar with same-sex romance, but what about a lesbian love triangle in 18th century England? Amid wars with neighbouring countries and civil unrest, Queen Anne (Olivia Colman) is uncertain about ruling a country. She doesn’t take much interest in it in the first place, a child-like disposition that her closest friend Lady Sarah (Rachel Weisz) likes to take advantage of both in the political court and the bed. Their relationship is further complicated when Abigail (Emma Stone), a poor cousin of Queen Anne who seeks a job at the palace, starts to capture the attention of the Queen.
