The judges in swivel chairs are back as more colourful characters seek to become “The Voice” of 2014. Who is the next superstar?
“The Voice” and its unique format make a return to television screens, in the new seventh season.
After sweeping an epic ten Emmy nominations, the judge’s panel has changed once more, with musical powerhouses Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams joining veteran judges Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.
The journey to find the next voice of the USA has begun!
Hiatuses and New Faces
Shakira and Christina Aguilera have disappeared from the stage after taking a hiatus but fans will be happy to see that their red swivel chairs have been taken over by the more than capable Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams.
Gwen Stefani was the co-founder and lead vocalist of No Doubt, and went on to be a successful solo artiste in her own right. To spice things up even more, Gwen is bringing in her husband and former frontman of Bush, Gavin Rossdale, to act as an advisor to the show. This powerful rock couple is set to impart their musical wisdom and make one lucky person the next voice of the USA.
Pharrell Williams, the singer-songwriter and rapper known for infectious hits to groove to, such as “Happy”, enters the judging panel. The popular Pharrell reunites with his long-term collaborator, Alicia Keys.
Returning Champions
On the other hand, the frontman of Maroon 5, Adam, is not going anywhere and makes his return after his marriage to Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo. After his honeymoon with his beautiful wife, Adam is ready to restart his intense rivalry with Blake. This year, he is breaking out the big guns, in Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks.
Country star Blake leads Adam 3-2 in season wins. Eager to extend his lead, Blake brings in country music group Little Big Town to give his team the best chance of winning. With the opportunity to gain a four-in-a-row of season wins, he also sees his latest album, “Bringing Back the Sunshine” debut at the same time as “The Voice” Season 7.
