The popular 90s sci-fi horror series gets a six-episode reboot, and will begin airing here soon on Fox
If you grew up in the 90s, “The X-Files” was likely one of your first encounters with the creepy kind. If you don’t already have its theme song in your head (and even if you do), you have to listen to it while reading this article:
The American science-fiction horror drama series, which originally aired from September 1993 to May 2002, revolves around FBI agents Fox Mulder (played by David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson), who investigate unsolved cases involving paranormal phenomena – classified as “the X-Files”.
In this reboot 13 years later, Duchovny and Anderson reprise their roles as the iconic FBI agents through a timeline that follow original show’s mythology. The new season will show every Tuesday at 9pm on Fox.
In the opening episode, Mulder and Scully take on a case of a possible alien abductee. They are accompanied by their boss, Walter Skinner (reinhabited by Mitch Pileggi), who treads a fine line between loyalty to his investigators and accountability to his superiors.

The new series is only six episodes short (Why?!, we cry out in fist-shaking desperation), so be sure to catch it before the case is closed again!
Were you a fan of the original series? Do you think the reboot will be as thrilling as the first?
