These Epic Face-swaps of “Descendants of the Sun” Will Make You Cry

If you thought recent Korean drama “Descendants of the Sun” was tear-jerking, wait till you see this series of hilarious face-swaps

If there’s one thing we are thankful to South Korean drama “Descendants of the Sun” for, it’s bestowing us with the glorious sight of actor Song Joong Ki, post-army service.

Ironically, he dives right back into army gear for this drama. (Photo: kdramastars.com)

And if we could be thankful for two things, this series of face-swaps is a close second.

Recently posted to a Running Man fan page on Facebook, the images depict poignant and romantic scenes of Song Joong Ki and his co-star, Song Hye Kyo.

Except Song Hye Kyo is no longer in the picture – literally.

Fans of Korean variety series “Running Man” will know this face belongs to actor Lee Kwang Soo. Song was a member of “Running Man” until its 47th episode, when he had to leave to serve in the army.

Thanks to Lee’s comical face – or, as I like to call it, the “resting clown face” – the face-swap is a tummy-clenching and tear-inducing hit, drawing thousands of likes within hours.

Some commenters have even declared that they would like to watch a series starring these two friends, renamed “Descendants of the Moon”.

And with this, we leave you with the cream of the crop(ped) photos:

I can’t speak for everyone, but I’m now more tempted than ever to catch the series.

Catch “Descendants of the Sun” on Viu and on KBS World (StarHub TV Channel 815).
