Disney’s latest fairytale fantasy movie has been much anticipated for its gorgeous wintry-wonderland sets and costumes. The classic Nutcracker tale gets an edgy upgrade with echoes of Alice in Wonderland (it looks a lot like the Tim Burton version), and Narnia. Much like both of those stories, this one has a mysterious parallel world, which Clara (Interstellar‘s Mackenzie Foy) stumbles into when she goes searching for a special key. In the kingdom’s three realms, She meets magical characters like the Sugar Plum Fairy (Keira Knightley) and kings laced in snowflakes and flowers. But the fourth realm has taken over by the evil Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren), and she plans to rule the other realms too, unless Clara finds a way to stop it.
