Making its debut in Southeast Asia, Christmas Wonderland @ Gardens by the Bay showcases the magnificent Luminarie light sculptures against the wondrous backdrop of nature
Feast for the Senses
Inspired by the elaborate Baroque architecture of the 16th and 17th century, the Luminarie light sculptures at Christmas Wonderland features over 30 intricate light installations using a whopping 95,000 bulbs for a truly magical experience. It is specially designed by Paulicelli Illuminations International, a family-run business that has handed down the brilliantly artistic skill of light architecture from generation to generation for over a century.
Also on display is the spectacular Spiegeltent, a travelling ‘mirror tent’ from the Netherlands, making its first appearance in Asia. Originally built in the late 19th and 20th century, only a handful remain in existence. Made of 1,000 pieces of wood, canvas, exquisitely decorated mirrors and stained glass, the enchanting tent will present a unique dining experience for you.
And what is Christmas without Christmas carols? At the beautifully illuminated Casa Armonica, an eight-metre-tall gazebo, you will be entertained by a special line-up of adult and children carollers every Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the festival.
Shop, Wine & Dine
The Festival Market at the Supertree Grove is where you can get your Yuletide gifts, Luminarie souvenirs, and specialty food items. It will also house gourmet restaurants where you can indulge in a wide range of international cuisine and wines, a traditional Christmas dinner, Mediterranean dishes and European desserts.
Complemented by the delightful Christmas floral display in the Flower Dome, Christmas Wonderland @ Gardens by the Bay is a rain-or-shine event that will transcend language, gender, and generation gaps. It is also a great way for your family to get together and bond during the festive season.
Christmas Wonderland @ Gardens by the Bay is on from 29 November to 1 January 2015. Admission is free.
