We are in the last week of January 2026. Take your few picks on what to do this weekend before the Chinese New Year mood kicks in!

1. Catch Gallop into Spring (骏启新春) at Sentosa Sensoryscape
Start the weekend with something festive that doesn’t require a ticketed attraction.
Sentosa Sensoryscape welcomes the Year of the Fire Horse with Gallop into Spring (骏启新春), a free Chinese New Year celebration that brings together Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and the rich symbolism of Chinese tradition. Inspired by the ancient legend of the Eight Steeds of King Mu (八骏马), the experience blends modern storytelling with timeless cultural motifs.
Go closer to dusk if you want the lanterns and projections to feel more dramatic, then stroll through the themed zones inspired by King Mu’s Eight Steeds. If you’re the type who likes keepsakes, the zodiac-themed boards with QR codes for personalised insights and downloadable phone screensavers make this feel more interactive than a simple photo stop.
Running from 30 January to 3 March 2026, the event transforms Sensoryscape into an immersive, multi-sensory journey featuring themed zones, interactive displays, and festive moments designed to engage the senses and spark the imagination—perfect for visitors of all ages.
Sensoryscape is located at 3 Siloso Rd, #01 3, Singapore 098977.

2. SCCC and SCO Spotlight Singapore’s Diverse Lion Dance Traditions at CNY Family FUN 2026

CNY Family FUN 2026 runs from 30 January to 1 February 2026 across SCCC and the Singapore Conference Hall, featuring cultural programmes such as theatre, storytelling, workshops, and photobooths.
If you’re planning around performance timing, the lion dance showcase takes place on 31 January and 1 February, from 1pm to 7pm, at SCCC Level 1 Concourse, featuring five styles from local troupes.
Even if you only have a short window, this is the easiest “drop-by” art moment of the weekend. The roof garden installation Finding Har马ny is on display now until 20 May 2026, open daily from 10am to 10pm. It’s colourful, lighthearted, and the kind of space that’s genuinely nice for a slow walk and a few clean photos before you head back down into the city.
