Are you ready for the long weekend?

1. Grand Hyatt Singapore Unveils Accredited Yoga Alliance Training Programmes

For a calmer, more intentional start to the weekend, Damai at Grand Hyatt Singapore offers a polished wellness escape that feels far removed from the usual rush of Orchard Road.

Located at Grand Hyatt, Damai is positioning itself as more than a spa, with Yoga Alliance-accredited training programmes led by master trainer Jimin Choi returning in an expanded 2026 format. While some programmes are scheduled later in the year, including the 25-hour Wall Yoga CET Retreat from 1 to 4 May 2026, the weekend is a good moment to discover Damai’s broader wellness direction and consider whether its structured yoga retreats fit into your year.

Expect a more immersive approach than a drop-in studio class, with wall yoga, chair yoga, anatomy-informed teaching, restorative movement, and access to wellness facilities such as hydrotherapy and garden-pool spaces.

For enquiries, contact Damai at +65 6416 7132 or damai.sg@hyatt.com.

2. Museum of Ice Cream teams up with Curiosity Kids for the Magic Bubble Science Lab

Museum of Ice Cream is already one of Singapore’s most playful indoor attractions, but this May, it gets an added STEM twist with the Magic Bubble Science Lab, created in collaboration with Curiosity Kids.

Running on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays throughout May at 3pm, 4pm and 5pm, the 30-minute workshop is designed for children aged 4 to 11 and turns bubbles, colour and simple reactions into a hands-on science session. It is a clever option for families who want something cheerful, sheltered and educational without making the day feel too academic. Children are provided with materials, lab coats and goggles, while educators guide them through experiments that make science feel visual and approachable.

Tickets are priced at S$67 for bundled General Admission and workshop access, S$25 for a standalone non-member workshop entry, and S$20 for members. Annual MOIC membership costs S$62 and is useful for families who expect repeat visits.

The space leans into modern European cooking, complemented by a walk-in retail wine cellar, private dining rooms, and a menu suited for both casual catch-ups and leisurely long lunches. While it is a wine-focused venue, alcohol-related promotions are reserved for guests of legal drinking age, and the main draw this weekend remains the food, easy convivial atmosphere, and East Coast convenience.
