It's the 40th anniversary since the release of Star Wars: A New Hope, and to celebrate this occasion, Star Wars fans are in for a mega treat: a three-day Star Wars festival is coming to town.

Star Wars Day: May the 4th Be With You will take place from 4-6 May, 3pm-11pm, at the Supertree Grove, Gardens by the Bay. The festival will have a distinctive flair that fans will appreciate, complete with themed activities, character appearances and immersive experiences.

We've learned from Artbox, so this time, we're getting our lightsabers ready for attack. Here are five highlights to make a beeline for at the festival:

4. Character Appearances

Whichever side of the Force you are on, you would probably want to catch both of these characters at the event. Coming in from a galaxy far, far away are Chewbacca or Chewie from the Rebellion and Kylo Ren, the dark warrior from the First Order.

Also decked out in custom-made movie-accurate costumes are the costume Fan Clubs, who will storm the festival as the 501st legion and Rebel Legion.

Tip: Chewie and Kylo Ren will appear from 6pm onwards on 4 and 5 May, and from 3pm-4.30pm on 6 May.
