4. Haunted Old Changi Hospital Night Walk
Built-in 1935, the Old Changi Hospital was a former military hospital that once housed over 50,000 prisoners of wars (POWs) during the Japanese Occupation. It is said that a torture chamber was once used by the Kenpeitai (Japanese Secret Police) to extort information from the POWs.
After the Japanese Occupation, the hospital underwent several expansions and name changes. In 1997, the site was abandoned following a merger with Toa Payoh Hospital and the establishment of a newer, larger Changi General Hospital at Simei.
Since then, the Old Changi Hospital has become a popular spot for filming and ghost haunting. From shadow figures to sounds of wailing and getting ‘touched’, various paranormal activities had been experienced and recorded.
