This year’s New Waves 2020 will celebrate the work of women creators who have been making their mark on cinematic culture since it began. Featuring – A Hand Written Poster (Dir. Eunmi Kwak), Blind Mouth (Dir. Siew-Hong Leong) and Home, and a Distant Archive (Dir. Dorothy Cheung). New Waves capture the diversity of work that women have created behind the camera.
Programme highlights include a series of Panel Discussions, “FOREGROUND AND BACKGROUND: WOMEN IN FILM” featuring a distinguished panel of artist-filmmakers – Nguyen Trinh Thi, Charlotte Lim, Jasmine Ng, and Silke Schmick. By covering a wide range of genres, issues, and representations of women. Singapore International Film Festival seeks to give more visibility to female directors through arts to entertain and to awaken the dynamic and powerful roles of women in our society and throughout the world.
