Superhero décor, good meaty fare, and no service charge. Hungry Heroes delivers a fun, value-for-money theme experience in Singapore.
In the Marvel Universe, the headquarter of the Avengers is located on Fifth Avenue in New York City, and it’s called Avengers’ Mansion. According to Marvel Wiki, the go-to site for all things Marvel, the mansion has 3 floors above ground which are open to the public. 12 rooms are reserved for Avengers, from faraway places, such as Asgard, who needs a place while they are in town battling arch-villains.
Superhero’s Singapore Hideout
Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, hidden in plain view at Tessensohn Road (walking distance from Little India’s Farrer Park MRT), is an unassuming conservation two storey shophouse, where superheroes such as Ironman, Thor, Captain America – well, at least full-sized replicas of them – reside!
Hungry Heroes is the newest restaurant in Singapore to use a Superhero theme. The other, which also recently opened, was reviewed by Weekender last month and can be found here.
Hungry Heroes houses some of the most impressive Superhero memorabilia I have ever seen from full-sized action hero figures, (costing $10,000) to busts and numerous comic posters.
For comic fans, this shrine devoted to DC and Marvel is a must visit!
Meaty Fare
So what do muscle-bulging, death-defying, faster-than-speeding-bullet, heroes eat? Meat of course! Hungry Heroes has robust meat offerings along with over 30 types of craft beers from around the world.
Their “Steak-out” platter, for instance, is like a post-climatic, battle-to-the-death, good-vs-evil, carnage of meat and bone piled on a metal pan. Not pretty, but it tastes darn good!

Just as DC and Marvel Universes emerge at Hungry Heroes, so do the meat universes on the platter. The platter for 5-6 people has 200gm ribeye, full rack pork ribs, pulled pork, sausage trio, 250gm de-boned chicken leg, beef stew and veal osso bucco. Price: $108+
Sure, I’ve tasted better steaks, racks, sausages before, but not all in one place; and certainly, not in the company of the Superheroes.
This is a great place to break bread with your own heroes (ie your besties) or your kids and marvel at memorabilia’s together.
