#WeekenderEats: Eating Sweet and Savoury at Homm Dessert, Sentosa

If you love dessert and exciting new flavours, Homm Dessert at WEAVE Resorts World Sentosa should be one of your next food stops!

This well-known Melbourne café has brought its Thai-inspired bingsu and more to Singapore, setting up a warm and welcoming restaurant steps away from the Sentosa Oceanarium. The place is bright and airy, filled with pale wood décor and little touches, like tote bags and bingsu postcards, that give it a fun, youthful vibe.

What really shines here are the desserts. Their signature bingsu is almost like an art piece. We recommend the Thai Tea Avalanche Bingsu (S$19.80++), which arrives with Thai milk tea-flavoured shaved ice, a generous cloud of whipped cream cheese, Thai tea gelato, and buttery crumble on top. Watching all the toppings tumble down in a cascade is good fun, but the taste steals the show—creamy, cold, and with a sweet note that isn’t overpowering.

If you prefer something more local, Mount Chendol (S$18.80++) is another star dish. It features soft coconut snow ice and a colourful mix of pandan jelly, jackfruit, sweet corn, red beans, and a thick gula melaka syrup. This is pure comfort, especially for warm weather — sweet, refreshing, and wonderfully nostalgic.

Homm Dessert isn’t only about bingsu. They serve eye-catching brunch-style dishes and pastas, bringing clever twists to familiar favourites. The Thai Chilli Crab Linguine (S$22.80++) might be my top recommendation if you like seafood and spice. It comes with two lightly battered soft-shell crabs perched on golden strands of linguine, all tossed in a sauce that balances aromatic lemongrass, garlic, and a gentle chilli heat. Each bite is light and flavourful, never overwhelming.

The Sriracha Salmon Sando (S$18.80++) turns a humble sandwich into a treat, using thick-cut shokupan bread, smooth smoked salmon, and playful sriracha ‘caviar’ spheres that pop in your mouth. It’s rich and satisfying, with just the right amount of heat.

The Mango Soba Salad (S$16.80++) is surprisingly refreshing for a lighter option. Chilled soba noodles come with juicy mango chunks, creamy avocado, and a bright Thai-inspired dressing. I found it clean-tasting and perfect for those who want a salad that actually excites. If you are after a simple snack, the Tori Karaage (S$8.80++) stands out with its perfectly crisp, juicy chicken bites. They are served with a spicy Thai sauce that adds a rich aroma without being too fiery.

There’s no lack of interesting drinks at Homm either. I tried the Cheese Top Thai Milk Tea (S$6.80++) and was impressed by how well the deeply brewed Thai tea paired with a thick, creamy cheese foam. It feels just a bit indulgent and matches the creativity of the rest of the menu. The Brûlée Mochi Sundae (S$8.80++) is another highlight. It has chewy mochi pieces with a caramelised crust and a choice of coconut, Thai tea or strawberry passionfruit fillings. The flavours are bold and delightful, and it’s hard not to smile when you break into the warm, gooey mochi.

Overall, Homm Dessert at WEAVE Resorts World Sentosa is a breath of fresh air for Singapore’s dessert and brunch scene. The food looks beautiful but feels familiar simultaneously, with Thai, Japanese, and local influences blended together. Prices start from about S$8.80 for snacks and go up to S$22.80++ for the main pasta dishes, but the generosity of the portions and quality of the ingredients make it worth it, in my opinion.
