8 Top Omakase Restaurants To Try In Singapore

Singaporeans are huge fans of Japanese cuisine and this includes Omakase. Omakase means "Leave it up to you", and the chef will decide what goes into their tummy for that meal.

The chef will usually decide on the dishes depending on the catch of the season and the ingredients available on that day. Omakase is usually available at a premium price but are they worth it? Team Weekender has sourced and tried out a few places that we highly recommend!

4. Sushi Ichizuke

This autumn, Sushi Ichizuke has launched trimmer lunch and dinner menus. The corporate lunch and dinner menus are priced at S$200 nett for the Awayuki (7-piece sushi) and S$250 nett for the Suisen (10-piece sushi and a cooked dish), both replete with appetizer, roll, soup and dessert. For regular diners, lunch now starts at S$128++ and dinner at S$198++, making it more convenient for faster meals while on the go.

New cooked dish highlights for autumn include lobster sashimi marinated between kombu sheets for a day, accompanied by a luscious miso-lobster sauce and topped with Hokkaido uni. Fans should not miss the smoked Spanish mackerel, where the raw Spanish mackerel from Hyogo Island is cold-smoked with hay before its skin is seared with binchotan to activate its natural oils and aroma.

Sushi Ichizuke is located at 3E River Valley Road #02-02, Clarke Quay, The Cannery, Singapore 179024.
