In a city where heritage meets modernity at every turn, Mandarin Oriental, Singapore has unveiled a collaboration that perfectly captures this duality.
Partnering with SHANGHAI TANG — the iconic fashion house renowned for its contemporary take on Chinese tradition — the hotel is reimagining the Mid-Autumn Festival with indulgent experiences that fuse design, gastronomy, and lifestyle.
From now to 31 October 2025, the partnership is more than a seasonal celebration; it’s a curated journey into artistry and elegance. Whether through a limited-edition mooncake set, an afternoon tea crafted like a gallery of flavors, or a stay experience infused with Oriental flair, this collaboration is an ode to heritage dressed in modern sensibilities.

At the heart of the collaboration is Moonlit Artistry — a mooncake gift set that redefines festive gifting. Presented in SHANGHAI TANG’s signature vivid fuchsia box, the design channels the house’s iconic jewellery boxes, accented with delicate ginger flower motifs. The interplay of bold pink and intricate chinoiserie detailing sets the stage for what lies inside: six mini baked mooncakes in refined flavors, including Low Sugar Oolong King Tea White Lotus and Royal Osmanthus Tea White Lotus.
But the indulgence doesn’t stop with taste. Each box unveils a pair of bespoke SHANGHAI TANG fine bone china dessert plates, with intricate floral patterns edged in gold and elegant dessert forks. With its blend of utility and artistry, this limited-edition set (S$388+) is designed for both connoisseurs and collectors.

Over at The Lobby Lounge, the Moonlit Bloom Afternoon Tea brings SHANGHAI TANG’s design codes to the table. Served in a special-edition teapot adorned with floral and gold accents, the experience unfolds as a celebration of flavor and form.
Each course highlights delicate floral notes and oriental inspirations. The Jade Roll surprises with celtuce and osmanthus, while Moonlit Zest balances cocoa nib choux with zesty marmalade. The Pearl Granite layers apricot with oolong tea, and the Tea Blossom reinterprets the castella cake with Da Hong Pao tea infusion.
There are homages, too: the Tang Rose, blending rose sablé with caramel coconut, pays tribute to SHANGHAI TANG, while the Golden Fan — espresso Chantilly with caramel and chestnut — nods to Mandarin Oriental’s signature fan motif. At S$68++ per person, it’s an edible art form, a ritual designed for both the eye and palate.

For guests who want to take the collaboration beyond the plate, Mandarin Oriental introduces Moonlit Moments, a stay experience infused with bespoke SHANGHAI TANG accents. Select suites are styled with custom touches, while the package includes the Afternoon Tea for two and a take-home Tang Ginger Flower room spray — a scent that lingers long after checkout.
Adding to the exclusivity, guests enjoy 10% off purchases at SHANGHAI TANG’s boutique in Marina Bay Sands or its retail pop-up at The Mandarin Cake Shop. In this way, the collaboration extends from the hotel’s interiors into the vibrant cityscape of Singapore.
The Mandarin Oriental x SHANGHAI TANG collaboration is more than a festive campaign; it’s a cultural conversation. By weaving together timeless Chinese motifs, modern design, and luxurious hospitality, the partnership speaks to a generation that treasures heritage but lives firmly in the now.
In celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival through mooncakes, afternoon tea, and immersive stays, both brands have created something that feels both familiar and refreshingly new — a reminder that tradition doesn’t need to stand still; it can shimmer, evolve, and glow under the light of the modern moon.
