Meet The Disgruntled Brasserie, the younger sibling of casual fine dining establishment The Disgruntled Chef.

This new concept is decidedly relaxing, with a menu that encourages communal-style dining with small and large plates.

The setting too, evokes a homely feel through handmade Venetian leather banquette and cosy booth seats, alongside vintage-inspired mirrors.

Newly appointed Chef de Cuisine Desmond Goh has done a brilliant job with locally-sourced ingredients, turning them into comfort food with an inventive twist.

Here are five dishes we recommend:

4. Iberico Pork Collar, $32

With a higher fat to meat ratio than what we’re used to, the Iberico Pork Collar is an indulgent treat that’s tender, succulent and flavourful to boot. But what we’re really impressed by are the sides. The Caraway milk poached caramelised cabbage, Jerusalem artichoke puree, grilled scallions, star anise jus all add an extra dimension of taste to the dish.
