Meet The Disgruntled Brasserie, the younger sibling of casual fine dining establishment The Disgruntled Chef.

This new concept is decidedly relaxing, with a menu that encourages communal-style dining with small and large plates.

Newly appointed Chef de Cuisine Desmond Goh has done a brilliant job with locally-sourced ingredients, turning them into comfort food with an inventive twist.

3. Carbonara Taglierini, $24

This may well be one of our favourite Carbonara dishes yet. Prepared with three types of ham — streaky back bacon, farmer’s smoked bacon and kurobuta ham, the taglierini pasta acquires a savoury and smoky flavour. Topping it all off is a parmigiano reggiano crusted egg, which cuts to reveal a runny yolk.
