Coming soon to the world of movie-inspired theme parks is Pandora – The World of Avatar, in Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Based on the exoplanetary moon Pandora from James Cameron’s Avatar, the park will reportedly feature floating mountains, alien flora and fauna, bioluminescent plants and more.

Disney has also announced that among its attractions, the new segment will boast the thrilling Avatar Flight of Passage and a serene river ride.

Scheduled to open next year, the new section may also incorporate Animal Kingdom’s signature Tree of Life as the Tree of Souls, or Eywa, from the movie, as it appears to glow in official concept images.

This announcement is particularly exciting for Avatar fans, especially following Cameron’s recent announcement of four Avatar sequels in total.
