What is life like as a transgender woman in Chile? The 2018 Academy Award winner for Best Foreign Film made history as the first film with a trans-centric storyline, starring an out transgender actress, to win an Oscar. When her lover Orlando (Francisco Reyes) suddenly dies, Marina (Daniela Vega) has to deal with more than just her grief. Orlando’s family, who disapprove of her relationship with Orlando, and the police investigating the death, won’t leave her alone. Marina’s a fighter; but can she persevere amid a hostile society that questions her very identity?
