The Most Over-the-Top Looks From the 2018 Met Gala

This year's theme: Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination

It's the first Monday of May. Well, technically a Tuesday here in Singapore. But it is a Monday in New York City, where industry key players, revered style figures and gleaming high-profile celebrities had gathered together at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the 2018 Met Gala -  arguably the important fashion event of the year.

As with the previous editions, the theme of this year's Met Gala was revealed well before the event. For the first time, the glitzy event treads on the sensitive line of religion, calling it Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination, that comes complete with a Vatican-approved exhibition.

And of course, in true 'look-at-me' fashion, guests showed up in their Sunday best. We're talking outrageous gowns with trailing trains, chainmail ensembles, and dramatic halo headpieces. We rounded up the some of the most over-the-top costumes that you may have missed out at the star-studded event.

Lilly Collins in Givenchy

Staying clear from the angelic look, Lily Collins strut her stuff in a brooding nun-meets-goth look, reinforced by Goth makeup, all whilst clutching rosary beads.
