1. Bangkok, Thailand

Ever a popular destination with Singaporean travellers, Bangkok has it all. Shopping, endless cultural discoveries, city comforts and lip-smacking street food. It’s little wonder why this city remains a perennial favourite.

Hotels.com recently revealed that 68 per cent of Singaporeans surveyed keep a keener eye out for restaurants and food markets when doing travel research on mobile.

But what possibly cements this city in as the top choice for a short vacation is how easy it is to explore despite the language barrier. Take an boat trip down Chao Phraya River and you’ll find hidden markets tucked away from the crowds, or wander about in Chinatown and enjoy a live Chinese opera performance. By sundown, the Sukhumvit area lights up with vibrant nightlife.

Together with second and third place, Bangkok remains in the same ranking compared to last year.
