Just less than an hour and a half away from Singapore, Penang is famous for its soft sandy beaches, delicious food, and plenty of cultural sights. From tucking into mouth-watering local fare and hunting down murals in Georgetown, here are some fun things for you to check out the next time you're in Penang for the first time. In fact, even if you've been to Penang before, some of these simple pleasures just never get old! Enjoy!
2. Visit Penang’s longest cafe
A traditional compound of three heritage building linked by an open air courtyard, ChinaHouse is now a 100m stretch of retail, art gallery, live music, lounge, and restaurant. Order a slice of cake, a pint of craft beer, and just take it slow as you watch the baristas do their thing. If you’re looking for a stroll, there’s an art space upstairs which hosts frequent exhibitions, comedy clubs, film screenings, and other art programmes. You never know what event you might bump into when you visit, and we think that’s beautiful and serendipitous.
