Can’t Decide Between The iPhone 6S And iPhone SE?

These 5 differences between the new iPhone SE and iPhone 6S will help you decide which phone is right for you

The new iPhone SE might look like a downgrade with its smaller size, but don’t rule this phone out just yet.

In a nutshell, it’s a 4-inch smartphone with the same design as the 2012 iPhone 5. However, that’s where the similarities end. This new version is faster and more powerful than its predecessor.

Here are the five main differences between the iPhone SE and iPhone 6:

1. Size

It’s the most obvious difference but its impact is significant. The new iPhone SE, with its 4-inch display is literally palm-sized and would fit comfortably into most hands.

In comparison, the iPhone 6, with a larger 4.7-inch display would need a larger grasp, but is great for reading or playing games.

The iPhone SE is also lighter, weighing in at about 114g, compared to the iPhone 6S at 140g.

2. Camera

While both the iPhone 6S and iPhone SE will have the same great 12-megapixel iSight rear camera, the new iPhone SE has a 1.2-megapixel front camera compared to the 5-megapixel front camera of the iPhone 6S.

Translation: poorer quality selfies and Snapchats for iPhone SE users.

3. Storage

The new iPhone SE has only two storage capacity options, 16GB and 64GB, while the iPhone 6S comes with a 128GB storage capacity option.

If you’re looking for more storage space, the iPhone 6 is the clear winner.

4. Battery Life

After Apple downgraded the size of the battery in the iPhone 6S (1,715 mAh) compared to the iPhone 6 (1,810 mAh), many users have complained about the poor battery life of the iPhone 6S.

Apple aims to remedy this by equipping the new iPhone SE with a better battery capable of providing users with up to 13 hours on 4G LTE usage compared to the iPhone 6’s 10 hours.

The new iPhone SE also provides up to 13 hours of HD video playback compared to the iPhone 6’s 11 hours.

5. Price

According to Apple Singapore’s website, the 16GB iPhone SE will be priced at $658, while the 64GB iPhone SE will be priced at $828.

This is more affordable than the iPhone 6S, priced at $1,048 for 16G and $1,218 for 64GB respectively.

It is also worth noting that consumers will be getting the same Apple A9 chip with 2GB of RAM in the iPhone SE, making the new phone a great deal for people looking for a cheaper phone without sacrificing on performance and quality.
