The Swedish furniture brand just got a little darker
Meet Bea Åkerlund – a fashion activist that is known for breaking the barriers of conformity in the world of film, fashion and music. Also, a stylist to the stars, such as the likes of Madonna, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Rihanna, the fashion-monger has injected her creativity and quirk in a line of furniture for Ikea, coming to stores in June.
“It’s a collection for the people: a Bea + IKEA mash up. I wanted it to be fun, relatable and accessible to everyone,” said Bea Åkerlund.
Described to be a hybrid between goth and Hollywood glamour, the Omedelbar Collection gives off Alice In Wonderland vibes, where you’ll find vases in the shape of Mad Hatter’s top hat and wall clocks that are reminiscent of the familiar pocket watch, fiddled by the tardy White Rabbit. Other accessories include plump lip shaped cushions, a boot-shaped vase and monochrome curtains – everything one would expect in Åkerlund’s own dressing room.
Here’s a look-see of the entire collection:
