Hair today, gone tomorrow. That’s the night-mare of anyone facing hair woes such as thinning hair, a receding hairline or an oily scalp. Weekender gave three treatments a try to see if they answered our needs.

“I’ll be the first to admit that scalp care has never been at the top of my beauty priorities. However, years of tugging my mane into a bun during my ballet days has resulted in limp looking hair, especially at my crown.

As such, I was pleased to try the new Kérastaste Density Booster Ritual (from $176), a targeted treatment that promises to add density and volume to my hair.

A typical session starts with a volumising haircut, personalised to your distinct hair texture and face shape. As I was running short of time, I skipped the cut and went straight for the relaxing hair bath. The Bain Densite Bodifying Shampoo used is said to add texture, body and resilience to hair.

My scalp was then prepped with a hydrating concentrate and my hair was treated to a freshly-fused Fusio-Dose treatment for instant density. The treatment is sealed with Masque Densité Replenishing Mask for intensive nourishment before Densifique Femme Cure is gently massaged onto my scalp to regenerate follicular activity and boost hair growth.

Finally, a touch of youth activator serum Densifique Sérum Jeunesse was added to texturise my mane before a blow dry. The result: A picture perfect mane that’s thick and voluminous, with a nice lift at the roots. A week later, I even found a couple more baby hairs growing at the crown.”
