How to maximise your long weekends next year and the best times to book your flights

According to the Ministry of Manpower, 2017 will bring us seven long weekends - where a public holiday (PH) falls on a Friday or Monday. However, by taking just six days of leave, you can enjoy three more long weekends, stretching your total vacation time to a whopping 36 days.
We show you how to do just that, and where you should consider travelling to during each period.

The first day of May brings in a long weekend too, but hold on to your leave – you’ll need it for your next PH. Instead, you may like to take a quick foodie trip to Penang, Malaysia, which registered as one of the top 10 most-searched destinations by Singaporeans in 2016 on Skyscanner. A search on the website shows that you can travel there from as low as $62 during this month.
