There are very few places on earth that can truly be considered remote and off-the-beaten-path. Antarctica is certainly one of these places. Home to vast ice sheets, majestic glaciers and barren deserts of snow, the untouched wilderness of Antarctica offers the journey of a lifetime.

2. Get up-close with Antarctica Wildlife

While you are in Antarctica, opportunities to get close to their wildlife are also plentiful. Spot whales, gentoo penguins and elephant seals as you explore these ice-cold waters on a series of Zodiac excursions. Be among the privileged few to witness one of the world’s rarest wilderness experiences: The March of the incredible Emperor Penguins, the largest species of penguins in the world, and the stars of the beloved children’s film, Happy Feet.

The best time to visit Antarctica will be November – March as it is their Summer. November is when Antarctica is practically untouched. You can thread on fresh snow with the vast expanse of Antarctica. Enjoy the scenery as it is at its most impressive. Animal lovers can visit the place from December to early February as it is Antarctica’s high summer. It is the time when the wildlife is most active: penguins, seals and birds are everywhere. You may even spy a penguin chick hatching!
