This lavender-infused spa retreat will leave you rejuvenated and well-rested

Not all staycations are made equal.
While most are packed full of adventures so that you go home with a wealth of exciting memories, there are times where complete relaxation calls.
As I’d learnt from a night’s stay at Hotel Jen Tanglin, doing nothing sometimes reaps the most benefits.
Spa retreat
The Lavender Spa Staycation, available from now until 29 Dec, was made with wellness and restfulness in mind.
First, we checked into the 25sqm Club Room, where whiffs of lavender greeted us. My eyes were first drawn to the cosy king-sized bed where a whole tray of organic lavender products was waiting.
On the bed laid a beautiful bouquet of dried lavender imported from Provence, France — perfect for acing that Instagram flatlay, alongside organic lavender products by Le Château du Bois including soaps, teas, shower cream, eye serums, hand cream and body lotions.
No effort was spared in creating a relaxing environment for us.
While the sun was up, we took the opportunity to unwind at the outdoor pool, which was packed with families and couples alike.
Best of all? There’s both a 30-metre long pool and a whirlpool, so one can easily get a workout while at it.
Relaxing facials
Following that, we made our way to the Essence Vale Spa, located just next to the pool for our scheduled Lavender Facial Treatments.
The 30-minute session, though a little short in my opinion, was just enough to leave my skin feeling refreshed. Expect a fuss-free cleanse, mask and head massage as the aesthetician lulls you to sleep with every skilful stroke of her hands.
If weary bones and achy muscles call for it, the spa package also comes with $50 off massage treatments.
By 5pm, we were already feeling thoroughly well rested and it was barely three hours into our staycation.
Our rumbling tummies soon led us to the Club Lounge, conveniently located on the same floor as the Club Rooms.
For the uninitiated, staying in one of the Club Rooms also accords one 24-hour access to the hotel’s newly refurbished Club Lounge.
Lounging around
With a stunning view of the hotel’s surroundings, the lounge makes the perfect spot for work or relaxation.
After all, there’s scrumptious food available round the clock. Brunches are served on weekends, with midday tea treats and small dinner bites available as well.
Plus, there’s free flow spirits, wines and beers for those who wish to knock back a pint or two.
For something a little more, make your way to the hotel’s hidden gem that is Rumpoles Bar. They offer a smashing 1-for-1 promotion on drinks, accompanied by crispy wings and free-flowing popcorn.
When night fell, we struggled to tear ourselves away from the creature comforts of our room to head out to town.
Looks like there can never be enough R&R at Hotel Jen Tanglin.
