Geisha spotted in the Higashi disctrict

Head to the Higashi Chaya district and you might just be lucky enough to catch glimpses of the famous geisha. Don’t be fooled by the tourists who are playing dress-up though — real geisha seldom stop for pictures and locals estimate there are only about 50-60 of them left in Kanazawa today.

The garden at Nomura Samurai House

For a peek into the past, the Nomura Samurai House is the former home of a high ranking official under the Maeda reign. From the beautiful tranquil garden to the tea ceremony you can experience here, it’s a lovely throwback to a time bygone.
