Nungwi, Zanzibar, Tanzania
What was once a simple fishing village is now one of Africa’s most picturesque sceneries. Palm trees surround the beach as the sea fades into ombre hues of blue-green to a dark teal.
At sunset, the boats leave the dock for a postcard-worthy image.
If you’ve never seen Africa, this is among the very best places to
start with.
Hanalei Bay, Hawaii, United States
Hanalei Bay on Kauai is a surfers’ paradise with gorgeous reefs. The seas can get choppy in more unpleasant weather conditions, so avoid that strip if the weather changes. Otherwise, this is truly paradise. The presence of beautiful people helps too.
Margaret River, Australia
Western Australia is well known for its temperate climate. This results in the many vineyards that surround the Margaret River region.
Little do people know that the beaches in this area have powdery-fine sand and amazing scenery. Plus, the surf makes it ideal for surfing enthusiasts.
Playa Paraiso, Cayo Largo, Cuba
It’s not all about cigars in Cuba. The weather is calm and the sea is shallow in this lovely spot. The waters are crystal clear and there is nary a cloud in the sky.
While Cuba is known for hidden beauty in every corner, this idyllic beach is most definitely one of Cuba’s best preserved treasures.
Sunrise Beach, Koh Lipe, Thailand
Despite the rising amount of tourists in the area, Sunrise Beach in Koh Lipe, Thailand, is still one of the better beaches. It is situated in our ASEAN neighbour too, so there is no excuse not to go.
There, you can even explore the whole island on foot if you wish. Get back to nature and its raw beauty.
Anse de Grande Saline, St Barths
Do not be surprised to see a nude sunbather or two at this beach in St Barthelemy, or St Barths. Its secluded location attracts plenty of naturists, although public nudity is not legal in St Barths.
There is little shade on this beach, so stock up on the sunblock and bring a parasol if you must. Anse de Grande Saline could well be the beach of Eden.
