Singapore’s very own hotelier, Loh Lik Peng, branches out to Shanghai after creating other eccentric local lodgings, such as Hotel 1929. One of Shanghai’s most popular boutique hotels, The Waterhouse in South Bund combines the modern Chinese design so ubiquitous in the metropolis, with the laidback ambience of its riverside setting. Located along the banks of Shanghai’s Huangpu River, the swanky hotel offers gorgeous views of the tall skyscrapers and skyline at the city’s famous financial centre.
