Speedy’s Café in “Sherlock”

Sherlock Holmes’ and Dr Watson’s iconic apartment, 221B Baker Street, uses the façade of 187 North Gower Street in London, England. Just like in the show, the unit is located above Speedy’s Sandwich Bar and Café, a real eatery where you can grab a bite and some souvenirs.

The storefront was initially dressed as “Mrs Hudson’s Snax” in the Pilot of the series, but the store’s original red sunshade has been displayed after that.

In the second season, the episode “A Scandal in Belgravia” had several scenes that were filmed inside Speedy’s Café. It was completely repainted by the production crew and today, you can still see the refreshed interiors that appeared in that episode.
