4. Charlie Chaplin’s complex

This homely complex of 25 units, located three blocks from the former Charlie Chaplin Studios, is rumoured to have been built by the comedy legend in the 1920s for his stage crew.

Since then, many other stars have called these cottages their home (or their holiday home, at least), from silent-movie star Rudolph Valentino and icon Marilyn Monroe to the actor Patrick Dempsey.
