5. Step foot on clan jetties

With history dating back to over a century, the Clan Jetties might be some of Penang’s most representative historical and cultural heritage sites. The waterfront society is home to houses on stilts, with each jetty belonging to a Chinese clan. Only five clan jetties remain today, namely the Chew Jetty, Lee Jetty, Lim Jetty, Tan Jetty, and Yeoh Jetty, with the Chew Jetty being the most tourist-friendly with plenty of spots for those Instagram moments, and even food and retail stores.
