Estée Lauder partners with Japan-based, Swedish-born manga artist, Åsa Ekström, to create limited-edition bottles of the brand’s signature essence-in-lotions, Micro Essence and Micro Essence with Sakura Ferment.
For this exclusive Estée Lauder collaboration, Åsa Ekström interprets the two essence-in-lotions via manga characters that represent harmony with the earth.
The limited-edition Micro Essence with Sakura Ferment bottle features Sakurami, the spirit of sakura, who is strong yet jovial; she makes a sakura tree grow out of the stone ground, displaying beautiful cherry blossoms. Nature, in its true form, is a central part of her narrative, with bright colours that represent spring, hope and beauty. The powerful imagery of cherry blossoms and natural springs, the secret to strength and survival, convey the mighty qualities of Micro Essence – intense hydration for supple skin, strength for resilience, and vitality for an angelic glow.
