There’s been a flurry of activity in Korean makeup with the innovative BB Cushion – here are a few you can consider
First there was the Blemish Balm (BB) Cream, and then came the Colour Correction (CC) Cream. Now there’s the BB Cushion.
The BB Cushion is a lighter and mousse-like foundation that gives a dewy effect to the skin while providing the appropriate amount of coverage. Here are a few for you to try.
Laneige is one of the pioneers in the BB Cushion ($59) craze and the latest permutation features a pore control in addition to the 6-in-1 function it already has such as sun protection, water resistance and soothing effect.
The sponge also helps cool the skin down which I liked.

The Precious Mineral Any Cushion ($29) from Etude House comes in Magic Pink, Green and Peach. This product is meant to be a base before your foundation as the corresponding colours even out the paleness, redness and unevenness in your skin tone. It provides sheer coverage and a dewy finish.

Known for the use of ginseng and natural ingredients in their products, the Evenfair Perfecting Cushion ($74) is great for oily skin as it uses a water base instead of oil.
It creates a slight shiny finish which can be easily fixed with some finishing powder if you prefer a matte look. The coverage for this one is quite sheer if you prefer a lighter foundation.

The K-beauty craze hits Sephora as well. PureHeal’s features natural products such as caviar, propolis, galactomyce and
ginseng berry. The unique thing about the BB cushions from PureHeal’s is that it contains 27 per cent of the said ingredient. Available at Sephora.
OK, this isn’t exactly the same as the Korean BB cushion but Maybelline’s take on it, the BB Wonder Smooth Compact Cream ($19.90). This lightweight foundation containing minerals conceals imperfections, brightens the skin as well as gives it a velvety finish. It’s cheaper than most Korean brands as well.

I love the skincare products from Innisfree, especially the green tea range, and the Long Wear Cushion ($34) is great for the recent hot weather as it is smudge proof and doesn’t really flake as much. It contains sebum control powder to keep the face shine-free as well.
